Mission Statement
Living Lab Malta (LLM) is the first-of-its kind knowledge-based township in the southern part of Europe.
A key component of its service offering includes the need to link high-value knowledge businesses, with IT enabled services to provide supporting transport/logistics/retail/public systems and networked virtual communities.
LLM is expected to be the catalyst to transform the Maltese local economy that is currently highly dependent on manufacturing and tourism into a country with a higher dependence on knowledge-based industries.
In so doing the Living Lab Malta need to cater for improved urban design and structures, transport efficiency, sustainable development and concerns related to the environmental and climate change within the future cities concept and visions.

Living Lab Malta is a space of fundamental concepts/ tools/methods of intelligent cities & open innovation, explains why ecosystems of innovation (clusters, technology districts, collaborative networks, systems of innovation) are more efficient in generating innovations than organisations and companies working in isolation with internal R&D only. |
